Howkins & Harrison Celebrate Another Successful Auction
Next Auction: Thursday 3rd December, Kilworth Springs Golf Club, North Kilworth

Wednesday 30th September saw Howkins & Harrison conduct a hugely successful Auction, a very full room yielded numerous bidders and 6 out of the 7 available lots sold, achieving prices in excess of their guides.

Auctioneer and Partner at Howkins & Harrison Jeff Paybody comments on the night, "Our auction room was packed to the rafters and there was excitement in the air, people were there to buy and all the lots that sold achieved strong prices. One such example is 42 High Street, Hillmorton – A Grade II listed farmhouse located in a popular residential area of Rugby. This property was guided between £225,000 and £275,000, a bidding war ensued and the hammer eventually fell at an impressive £354,000"

Jeff Paybody continues; "Land was also selling extremely strongly on the night with all four blocks of pasture / arable land selling well. Again there was a battle between bidders, this time for 70.53 acres of pasture land located in Great Bowden, Leicestershire. This lot was guided between £300,000 - £350,000 and with a number of bidders keen to secure the land the price quickly rose before finally selling at £440,000"

Due to this fantastic outcome Howkins & Harrison have already arranged their next auction for Thursday 3rd December, again at the Kilworth Springs Golf Club, North Kilworth. This date has already attracted a number of clients looking to benefit from selling at auction and Jeff Paybody anticipates that there will be approximately 10 – 12 lots available.

"Despite the change in economic climate our experience is that if an auction property is sensibly priced with a realistic reserve it has an excellent chance of selling" Jeff Paybody explains. He continues "Howkins & Harrison hold regular collective auctions and suitable property is always in demand. Properties for renovation, building plots and pasture and arable land sell particularly well via auction."
