HS2 Update: Environmental Statement and Plans

Two new sets of documents have been published in October 2018, giving more detailed plans for HS2 Phase b2 (Birmingham to Leeds, and Crewe to Manchester).

We now haveHS2 Phase 2b working draft Environmental Statement, that was published on 11thOctober. This includes 28 area reports and 26 map books that provide the following details:

There are 28 reports covering community areas along the entire Phase 2b route. The reports provide the following information for each area, as identified at a stage in the ongoing design and environmental assessment:

Two community areas cover the proposed electrification of the Midland Main Line between Clay Cross and Sheffield Midland Station. This work is required to enable HS2 services to connect to Sheffield via Chesterfield. These reports contain less detailed information and do not yet have separate map books. They include, for each area:

Each map book contains a series of maps relevant to the community area covering:

(Map books are not provided for the 2 Midland Main Line community areas due to the earlier stage of the design.)
