The Commercial team at Howkins & Harrison Rugby are delighted to confirm the sale of the former Scott Tyres building in Kingsthorpe, Northampton as a commercial Premises Sale.
Acting on behalf of the Trustees, Howkins & Harrison
Commercial Department were engaged to manage the sale of the former workshop
and upper residential floors of the building, on the corner of Kingsthorpe Road
and Knightley Road.
Despite significant local competition, Howkins &
Harrison were awarded sole agent status on the building. Significant interest
surrounded the building from potential developers, investors and retail
operators.
Nigel Underwood, who managed the sale on behalf of Howkins
& Harrison stated: ‘We are delighted to have completed the sale of this
development opportunity in a prominent location in the busy Kingsthorpe suburb
of Northampton on behalf of the Trustees. After significant negotiations with
several interested parties, our clients were delighted with the final price
achieved.’
Commercial Premises Sale
The sale has concluded despite marketplace unrest due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the Brexit negotiations and the future of the UK in the European single market. Howkins & Harrison have a number of investors looking for development opportunities on their database within the east midlands and surrounding areas. There is a strong appetite for investment from speculators and developers alike. In addition, with the relaxation of planning laws for brown field sites and the conversion of buildings at the periphery of towns, demand from local, regional and national occupiers is increasing.
This particular building has been sold with options for
industrial units on the ground floor and with an HMO (Houses of Multiple
Occupancy) certification for the upper floors. With demand from first-time buyers, town
centre property and alternatives to more traditional new build houses on estates
are an attractive proposition.
Howkins & Harrison have been supporting homeowners,
landowners and landlords sice 1888. We offer total property, land and estate
services to residential, commercial and rural clients.
